On the cold sunday morning (yes sunday! and morning!) of 19th July, WORDUP 2015 took place at BIG PITCHER — the massive microbrewery + restaurant in Old AirPort Road, which is quite far from my house. I had to leave early. And I did. Perhaps, I was among the first few to register my e-mail at the counter.
This meet unlike all other blogger meets was not about brand promotions, it was about how you can succeed as a blogger and that blogging isn’t an easy thing to do. There was an amazing set of speakers. Here’s the list!
Arun Prabhudesai — is an Entrepreneur, Blogger and internet addict. After a long stint in IT Industry spanning 12 years and 3 continents, he came back to India to start on his own. His 2 startups have had mixed success. He is founder of Armoks Interactive Labs and founder-editor at Trak.in, one of the most popular Indian Technology News and Views Destination where he and his team of passionate writers present Insightful and Analytical stories on Technology, Telecom and Startup world.
Janhavi Acharekar — is the author of the novel Wanderers, All (HarperCollins, 2015), a collection of short stories Window Seat: Rush-hour stories from the city (HarperCollins, 2009) and the travel guide Moon Mumbai & Goa (Avalon, 2009) — the first Indian destination guide by the American travel book series Moon Handbooks. A writer of both fiction and travel, she is a contributing editor at Conde Nast Traveller India. Her short stories appear in various anthologies of short fiction while her features on travel, books and the arts appear in leading Indian and international publications. She has curated several literary festivals including the Crossword and Kala Ghoda litfests in Mumbai as well as Lit.mus in Bangalore. Janhavi was awarded the Charles Wallace Visiting Writer’s Fellowship at the University of Stirling, Scotland, in 2009.

Prasant Naidu — is the Founder at Lighthouse Insights (LI), a four-and-half-year-young online publishing startup which covers Indian social media marketing stories beyond press releases.
